Training: First Aid Places Available

British Cycling are running a number of HSE Emergency First Aid at Work, one day courses at various locations in the United Kingdom for only £70, please register your interest, stating your preferred location, by emailing cycletraining@britishcycling.org.uk

The courses are open to all Cycle Training Instructors, Ride Leaders, Coaches, Club Volunteers and Officials.

Course Overview
This is a very popular First Aid course and is approved by the Health and Safety Executive. It provides a good insight into the procedures and basic life support skills needed to help those who may come across an emergency situation.
It is ideal for Cycle Training Instructors and Assistant Instructors, Ride Leaders and Coaches. It is also good for those who volunteer at clubs and events

By the end of the course delegates should be able to:

• Give emergency First Aid until the arrival of paramedics
• Recognise and treat most emergency situations

Topics covered

• Incident and Casualty Management
• Causes of Unconsciousness
• Dealing with an Unconscious person
• C.P.R. (including babies and children)
• Choking
• Wounds and Bleeding
• Burns
• ontents of a first aid kit.
• Accident reporting

There is no formal assessment and on completion of the course each delegate will receive a HSE certificate which is valid for 3 years.
